Can I dye my hair brown if it is red and brown at the moment?

I had the bottom section of my hair dyed red about 6 weeks ago and the top part dyed dark brown (I am light brown/dirty blonde naturally). I now want to just have one clolour but dont know what will happen if I try to dye it all brown now. Will the red go a different colour??? The red is semi perm colour if this helps.

ummm no...if u dye your hair wherever u had the lighter color thats where the red would b the lightest when u dye it. trust the same thing happened to me. not unless u bleach your hair so its all one color and then dye it the color u want it. but that can b risky cause there the possibility of your harid being damage. and u would still have to wait a whole 6 weeks after u bleach it to dye it again.

i think that if its a darker brown than the red is, then it wont show, but for proffesional help go to a hairdresser and just ask.

you can dye your hair but depending on the product you might need to bleach it and then dye it or just dye it and see what happens or get the color removing kit thing and it mgiht help you

The best thing you can do is wait for the red part to fade. Since it is Semi Permanent it will fade back to your original colour. You could try and put a brown on your hair, but it is likely that the red area will be lighter than the rest of your hair. Red is one of the hardest colours to get out of hair, but it is also the one that loses its vibrancy the quickest.

If in doubt, consult a hairdresser and maybe get it done professionally.

Or you can keepy dying it every 6-8 weeks using the same brown dye. Eventually it will even out.

one thing to do, get a rinse/semipermanent color and apply it yourself, should be no problem cause these are easy to use, apply and see what u get, remeber its a rinse so what the worse that could happen, the red at the bottom will definitely show up lighter than the top b/c its automatically lighter, if u went jet black, offblack, or the darkest brown then your color would be even, no matter what b/c those colors r harsh dark colors, remember is easier to always go dark the challenge is going light, i'm african american and always rinse my hair jet black or midnight blue, i love manic panic, but my hair is stained now, so in order to go lighter i will have to bleach it, good luck
