i just put medium brown dye in my dyed blond hair (original color was brown) but its looking like a redish color so far. should i leave the dye in longer to make it more brown? or is this just unevitable

the longer you leave it in the darker it will become. However dying your hair from blond to any darker color will still be much lighter than the color shown on the box. It may take several applications before you get to the actual desired color.

Don't leave it in longer than it calls for on the box or you could have breakage, dryness, split ends, etc. and this would be far worse than a color goof. At least if it does have some red tones in it, it would be healthy. Go by the instructions. It will fade a lot within a week anyway.

my friend dyed her dark blonde hair brown and it came out the first time purpleish, so i bet after the first or second time you wash it the red will go away.

Apparently there is colour pigment in dye that you do at home, so your not meant to wash it out when its changing colour. Like if you were brunette going blonde, it would go from yellow orange and red until it reached blonde.

Also, you shouldnt do this. The Hair colouring kits you buy from the supermarket contain really stong chemicals that they use in car painting, and really damage hair. You should get it done professionally.

Leave the dye in and see how it works then if you still don't like it un bleach it and stop dying your hair or your hair will never go back the way you want it. And, it's not good for your hair it kills your roots.

yes the chemical needs to work for the full time that is on the box because brown hair naturally has a reddish color to it so leave it alone for atleast 30 min.

leave it on. you've obviously chosen a warmer tone, so it will be a reddish brown when you're done. i dye with cool tones, and mine looks purple when i dye it. You may not be happy with your color, though. Going 2 shades darker or lighter than your current color is risky, but if you don't like it, you'll be dark enough to re-dye with confidence. Just go get a box of cool-toned color. Avoid colors with the words golden, reddish, or warm and opt for colors with words like cool, ash, or iridescent instead. To speed things up, Feria has NO cool colors, so don't even bother unless you like the reddish look. Lots of luck!

i think yous should wash it out, which mite take a while then see wat color it is and ull no wat to do. but i dont think u should keep dying it it makes hair fall out and ruins ur roots =C
