i have been getting blonde highlights in my hair- its naturally brunette- will getting it coloured my natural colour over the blonde cause it to go orangy?
my friend had dyed blonde hair and she said when she got it coloured brown it went a bit orangy?
Colouring hair- brown over blonde..?
the only reason it would be orangey is someone didn't know what they were doing. yes, brown over blonde will be somewhat of a warm tone, as you can't put an ashy tone over blonde or it will be green or gray. if the proper natural brown based level 5 to 6 color with a 6 to 10 volume developer is used, there should be no lift on the remaining natural color between the highlights, and only deposit on the blonde, therefore, no orangey tone. i say level 5 or 6 because you say "naturally brunette" and that is what most people mean by brunette. you may, though, be somewhat lighter or somewhat darker than my specifications. i don't know because i can't see your regrowth.

depends on how dark your hair is, if it is between really dark brown and medium brown, the blonde dye will make it slightly blonde, but mostly red. you may have to do it several times. If you lightish hair, don't worry.
Colouring hair- brown over blonde..?
thats probably because they lifted her natural hair color and the brown color must have been lighter than her natural color and lifted up her natural hair color, and faded off of the blonde
so just put a brown with a 10 volume instead of 20 volume so you'll get more deposit
