Dying hair Brown over Blonde highlights?

I currently have some very light blonde streaks in my hair... Unfortunately I can't afford to get it done again for a couple of months, but the roots are really bad and I'd like to cover it up until I can get it fixed.

If I use a darkish brown, do I put the colour on the curently brown part of my hair first? Or on the blonde part first? Is it going to look funny now matter how I do it?

It will not completely cover the highlights, but the highlights will blend in better with the rest of your hair. If you pick the right color it will look good. Don't put it on the brown part first because why would you want that to be even darker?

It doesnt really matter which part you do 1st. Your highlighted hair will make the dye look a little more intense but it will fade out a lot sooner. But it's an easy cover up until you can get your highlights re-done.

I just recently went back to my natural hair color by dying it brown after having many blonde and red highlights in my hair. The spots where the blonde highlights were are a little lighter, but I think it makes the color look more natural, especially since before I started having my hair colored I always had the natural highlights in my hair. It won't effect which order you put the color on.

To apply, mix it with 20 volume developer and apply it to all of your hair, roots and blonde. Let it process 20 - 30 minutes and you will have toned down your blonde and blended it with your roots.
