Go to a wig store and try on different colors. Many people do this when changing their hair. You can get an idea and make a note of which one is best for you. Also,if you trust your hairdresser, ask them. You are a walking billboard for their work and they do not want to make you look bad because it will reflect on them. That is how I ended up from light brown to black and I love it!

I also have light blonde hair with brown eyebrows...I like the blonde but one time the lady highlighted my hair WAY TOO blonde it looked bad! So the next time I tried a darker blonde and it looked REALLY REALLY good!!

If you have very fair skin(like Cameron Diaz), don't go too dark brown...it'll look bad trust me! But I would say go for a medium brown!!!!!!

well at most hair salons, they will have like little hair things that are all different colors and then pick one out thats closest to your own hair color but a bit darker. and when you find the color then get them in highlights. if you like it that way, then when the highlights start to fade get the highlights again. or since you have light blonde hair, if you soak your hair in cold coffee then it should make it darker. for a lighter affect spray lemon juice in your hair. hope this helps

I went through the same thing. I suggest you go for it. No one thought I would look good with darker hair, until I did it. A couple of things to keep in mind:

1. Don't go black, try and find a shade of brown that is similar in tone to your natural (or favorite) hair color.

2. Don't use permanent hair color the first time. It really takes the stress out of the procedure.

3. Be prepared for it to wash out quickly, even if you use permanent hair color. I found from my experience, and from talking to others, blond doesn't stay dark very long.

I even tried colors with some red in them, which I was really scared of, but even that turned out great. My only problem now is getting the color to last.

There are a couple of sites that let you upload a picture and try on various colors and styles, but they really didn't help me much.

I don't specialize in make-up or hair, but I know for a fact that if you look into any fashion magazine, you will see faces of Hilary Duff, Cameron Diaz, Mandy Moore, Scarlett Johansson, Alicia Silverstone, etc. They all went brunette for a more sophisticated and classie look.

And they all came out of it successfully. In saying this, I would definately tell you to go for it. It's a new time in your life and it's time for a change.
