So i just did my own highlights and they came out really well, I have really dark brown hair ,?

And it came out pretty blonde but i would like to use a toner. So from what i have read your supposed to just use a semi permanent hair color that is a "light blonde" or "platinum color" to get light blonde results. So i did the highlights with a cap, is it okay to add the semi permanent haircolor to all my hair or just the highlights? Will it dye the rest of my hair that is a dark brown? Please help :)

If you use semi-permanant coloring to ALL your hair, it will temporarily change ALL of your hair. Unless you want it to, just use it on your highlights.

Also, I've never really looked for it, but why are you toning your hair with semi-permanant dye? I'm just curious, since I don't know.
