if you want to go skater, go to a professional. Chunky Highlights are always better on darker hair, because it shows that you are being drastic and not pretending to have natural blonde highlights (very fake).

I'm always a fan of chunky blonde highlights all over and a few colored pieces in the front. consult with a stylist. going more than 3 shades darker on your own can be a big mistake.

post hair color: buy shampoo/conditioner made for color treated hair to keep it nice and deep condition once a week.

for a subtle look= thin sections close together= butter blonde you can make them thicker for a little more noticeable look, towards the top and as you go down towards the back fewer and then ad red low lights from the ears down or do the whole back a solid red to red brown.this look is awesome.but if you want dramatic=blond highlights on top=butter beige,1/2 way down red and towards the nape black=looks good up or down aqnd trendy
