I tend to dye my own hair red, it's less annoying being a red-head than it is not to be able to describe your haircolour at all - I'm stuck between dark blond and light brown naturally and noone has been able to give me a definite name for my haircolour, so when I dye it, at least I know what colour it is!
Basically, if your friend says she has brown hair, she has brown hair - even the Romans knew that you shouldn't argue about colours and tastes/flavours.

i'm a natural redhead and proud of it. if someone is embarassed by it, i can understand. i used to hate mine when i was a kid, but then i started to love it when i realized that i didn't have to worry about "the precious red fading away."
only thing that bothers me is when someone is far from a redhead and claim that they are.
