What happens when you put sun-in into dark brown hair?

does it ruin it or something? The bottle says it's reccomended for blondes and light brown hair, but what about brunettes? Has anyone tried it? What results did you get?

It will not turn orange. I have been doing it for years. It just gets lighter..I put it in while i am in the sun..........you can put it in before you blow dry........looks good on me I put it on the front by my face and it turns lighter slower and it looks naturally highlighted

you will probably get orange highlights. brassy orange highlights. And then in about 6 weeks you will have dark roots with brassy orange highlights. try something formulated for dark hair - loreal has a nice one in it's feria line.

I never put sun-in into my hair but I've use a spray bottle and peroxide and it made my hair a reddish color but it looked good.
