Basically, I am contemplating going to the shop and buying a brown hair dye and dying my hair myself. I have done this for years but I have always dyed it blonde. Is it safe to dye it brown by myself or am I going to go ginger?
Is it save to dye my hair brown after dying my hair blonde for so many years?
Going from one end of the hair color spectrum to the other is very hard on your hair so I would go to a professional, but if you can't or dont want to then have a friend or family member help you. You can dye it at home %26amp; if you dont like the color or its not dark enough then dye it again. And if you dont like it after the 2nd time them its time to go to the Salon :)

I went from being blonde all my life to being brunette :)
but i would recommend getting it done professinally for the first time, then you can top it up yourself...

I have been bleaching my hair for years, and recently decided to go brunette. Trust me, have a professional do it!!! It turned my hair gray, so i thought that maybe i needed to do it a second time, and i still had the same results. So i would recommend going to your hairstylist. It may cost a lot more, but it will be worth it. Hope this helps.

If you buy it yourself get a brown with red in it to avoid your own hair going green, but it would be safer to go to a salon.
good luck :)

well if you must do it yourself get a warm brown (a color that has a red orange base to it, you wil have to read the color name pretty close because if you get a cool brown with an ash base you will end up with a greenish gray tint)
I would totally recommend going to a stylist though.

The question of safety is not in the color switch but rather how often you've been dying your hair and how much of a habit are you in styling it daily (blowdrying, curling/straightening irons %26amp; styling products). If you have been maintaining the blonde color every 6-8 weeks, and you styled your hair so much, your hair might be a bit frizzled. Then darkening it so drastically (more than 2 shades) would not bring as much shine. So it would be much safer to have it professionally done, as they have much better conditioners to make it shiny.
